AfterWorldForum changes - 30 September

We had quite a busy day today, as we both had the day off in order to prepare for a short trip to Holland where we will be celebrating getting married last year (we had the official legal bit, but not the party, and we fellt we owed our friends and relatives a party).

However, we spent quite a bit more time launching an exciting sister site of this site today, dealing with MindArk's Entropia Universe and the upcoming planets in it. In case you are interested, please find the site here at: http://www.entropiaplanets.com

We've had this in the working for a while as well (the domain was secured years ago), but with the new VPS up and running, and having gained loads of experience with the vBulletin package from this here forum, it seemed like the right place and time.

We made some modifications to this site as well, though, and you most likely most noticed our switch of the User Profile while viewing a post. We feel this way of presenting the user profile provides a much more calm experience to the eyes. Do let us know if you disagree, though.

We also added the option for users to exclude posts from certain forums from the "New Posts" section. For the time being, the amount of forums that can be selected for this is limited, but this might change overtime. A more in-depth explanation of this feature was added to our FAQ, for those interested.

We also added some more information about the Twitter abilities to the FAQ. I must admit I had my doubts about Twitter for the longest possible time, but I'm really starting to see the opportunities with it.

You most likely noticed we added a Credits system. For the time being, you will not be able to do much yet with the credits, as we did not yet add any store options, and you might notice fluctuations in your balances, as the system will be tweaked to better suit our needs (we prefer quality posts over quantity, and this system will help allow us to achieve part of that goal).

Lastly, I've started messing around with a Gallery package, but need more time to get a feel for things. The one I picked for now is a free one, and it does not currently have a 1 on 1 integration with the forum package, so it requires a bit of customizing. No actual ETA on it yet for the time being.
